Burglary |

Good news! A well known Burglary suspect who committed a burglary in Knightsbridge was apprehended thanks to the speedy work of our colleagues in the emergency response team. The suspect was caught and arrested on scene. As we approach the May bank holiday weekend, we would like to remind residents to remain vigilant, particularly if you are planning to be away from your home during the holidays. Burglaries often increase at this time of year, with offenders targeting properties that appear unoccupied. Also, properties that are covered in scaffolding are an easy way for intruders to enter homes.
Please consider the following crime prevention advice:
• Ensure all doors and windows are locked before leaving your property • Use timer switches for lights to give the impression your home is occupied • Avoid advertising holidays or expensive gifts on social media • Ask a trusted neighbour or friend to keep an eye on your property and remove post or parcels • Keep valuables out of sight and consider using a safe for important items • Secure sheds, garages, and side gates • If you have a burglar alarm or CCTV, ensure it is working and set correctly
If you notice any suspicious activity, please report it immediately to the police. In an emergency, always call 999. For non-emergencies, contact 101.
Let’s work together to keep our community safe over the bank holidays.
